Get ready to be inspired lovers! xx
Tell us about your love story and proposal…
It’s not very romantic! We met out at a bar one night. Ryan is originally from Perth so we didn’t have any mutual friends. It was kind of nice just getting to know each other – he appeared more mysterious.
Ryan’s proposal was the best! We live around Princess Park in Carlton and we often go for a run around the park. He got down on one knee in the middle of the park. I was in my activewear and it was totally unexpected which I loved. We often go back for a run there together and now it’s just that little bit more special – I could never move now! After he proposed he had organised a winery lunch and weekend away at Stones in the Yarra Valley. We got so drunk on champagne and I was crying (with joy) the whole day.
How did you find your wedding planning experience?
Loved it! Ryan is very carefree and relaxed so that helped. I think wedding planning can be quite stressful but it’s how you make it. I wanted a more fun relaxed wedding because that’s who we are.
Any advice to other couples?
Don’t sweat the small stuff! Nobody really notices it! It’s meant to be the best and most fun part of your life so let it be that way.
What wedding theme did you go for?
I would say modern rustic together with a traditional Greek ceremony and Greek dancing (which was an absolute hit with our guests).
What was your wedding day highlight?
Our MC was Ryan’s younger sister, Maddison Gale. For something different, she organised this game for us to play where Ryan and I had to take off our shoes, give one of our shoes to the other (so we had one of each shoe), hold them up in our hands and as she asked us questions we had to raise the shoe of whoever the question related too. I hope I explained it properly but the guests loved it and it had us all in stitches.
Anything you would change?
I should have eaten the dessert we had ordered at the Panama Dining Room as the food is amazing there. I was too busy on the dance floor and didn’t get to eat it.
